About PureAir Lab
PureAir Lab is an independent resource that reviews and compares home air purifiers. No brand pays for a ranking — our picks are based on specs, testing data and real-world owner feedback.
What we do
There are hundreds of air purifiers on the market and most product pages are written to sell, not to inform. We cut through that. For every category — allergies, mold, pets, smoke, dust, large rooms and bedrooms — we compare the units that matter on the specifications that actually predict performance: CADR, filter type, real coverage, noise and running cost.
How we test and rank
- Specs first. We normalise every unit to CADR per dollar, true-HEPA status, carbon volume and rated coverage, so comparisons are like-for-like.
- Real-world evidence. We read through large volumes of verified owner reviews to surface recurring problems — noise, filter cost, sensor accuracy — that spec sheets hide.
- Room-size honesty. We size recommendations to real air-change rates, not the optimistic coverage number on the box.
- We update. Models get discontinued and revised; we revisit our guides and note the "last updated" date on each page.
Editorial independence
PureAir Lab earns commissions through affiliate links (see our affiliate disclosure), but commissions never influence our rankings. If the best value in a category is a budget unit, that's what we recommend. We would rather keep your trust than earn a slightly larger commission.
Who writes PureAir Lab
PureAir Lab is produced by a small editorial team that covers home appliances and indoor air quality. We aren't doctors, and nothing here is medical advice — for health conditions like asthma or severe allergies, talk to a professional. What we can tell you is which purifier moves the most clean air for your room and budget.
A note on our advice
An air purifier is a tool, not a cure. It reduces airborne particles while it runs; it doesn't remove the source of mold, smoke or dust. Wherever it matters, we say so plainly — because useful advice beats an easy sale.
